The First!
As a brand new blogger, I'm sure I'll have to find my feet with this. As you may have already read, the intention of this blog is to recognise and celebrate the beauty found in the ordinary things in life. The more time I spend online, the more negative content seems to jump out at me. It's easy to become discouraged, or to believe that bad things lurk in every corner. This is simply not true. Now, obviously you're reading this online. And I can't demonize the internet entirely. But I hope that maybe you, the reader, can catch a bit of inspiration to view your life and your world a bit differently, a bit more positively. The other day I posted on my Instagram account a video of a spider's web, floating serenely between a shelf and the wall. Why? Because it was beautiful. That's all. There was nothing profound about it, except that I stood captivated for a few minutes appreciating the beautiful work of a creature that I don't actually want in my house. Mind you, our 111 year old house is practically held together by spiders' webs, so I shouldn't complain. By admiring the spider's web, I was instantly reminded of my childhood: when I had the time and the ability to wonder at the simple things. I'd like to have that mindset a bit more in my day to day life now. So today, try to notice something unexpected. Try to be curious and remember what it felt like to be amazed by something that is simple, and yet upon further contemplation so complex.
Be blessed.
